Comfortable, soft, loose-fit women's sweater by Steppenstrolch, made from exclusive yak wool. Yaks roam the steppes of Mongolia in large herds alongside nomadic herders. In spring, when they shed their winter coats, the yaks are combed. Each yak produces only a small amount of wool, making yak wool one of the rarest and most expensive types of wool in the world. Small-scale businesses use the wool to make a range of products.

This sweater is not certified organic, but the wool is as natural as it gets. It is pure, undyed, sustainably and ethically sourced and produced, and of high quality. The properties of yak wool:

• temperature-regulating, making it suitable for every season
• hygroscopic (breathable and moisture-wicking)
• hypoallergenic (does not cause allergic reactions)
• super-soft, fine fibres

This sweater is made from natural yak-brown wool. We have a few sweaters in stock. Come and see, try on and feel the sweater in our shop. It is also available in grey or dark brown.

Often, simply airing the sweater out for a day after wearing it is enough. Odours usually disappear from wool clothing this way, so washing is not necessary. If needed, the garment can be washed on a 30-degree wool cycle, at a maximum spin speed of 800 RPM, using wool detergent. Before hanging the wet garment to dry, gently reshape it.
